drawings from gened

As promised, here are some of the drawings from my short 2 week gen-ed drawing course at COFA (college of fine arts, unsw). Had loads of fun, and learnt much about tonal studies and how to draw accurately etc. I shall fully embrace ink and charcoal now :). Oh happy days.

Some tonal studies with ink

Drawing of a scrunched up piece of paper in graphite

Tonal studies with colour in water colour pencils

Blind contour drwaings in charcaol.

Drawings of a man-made object in 4 different angles, in graphite pencil.

Drawing of plant still life, using charcoal attached to a tree branch, then with left hand.

Some more tonal studies with spatial relationships with ink

Some tonal studies of folded fabric in a) black and white coloured pencil (non graphite) on brown paper, b) charcoal and chalk on off white paper.

Assessment self portrait in charoal, ink and graphite. (original photo taken with fisheye, thus explaining the giant head…. or at least that’s my excuse…)

Paddington Summer School Update

Many apologies for the recently lag in posts. Been at summer school at COFA the past 2 weeks improving my drawing skills. By far the most useful gen ed of all 4 I have taken. It does suck having to trek all the way out, but definitely pays off. Have some exciting projects to post soon, but til then, here is something to tie us over. Some photos of Paddington, where COFA is located… I know long connection, but just needed some excuse to show these. Will post up photos of results from drawing class after assessment day. Til then…
